Exclusive Interview: Tajul Islam, Founder of Ngital— On Building Bangladesh’s Next-Gen Digital Marketing Powerhouse

Times Tab recently sat down with Tajul Islam, the dynamic founder behind Ngital Limited, one of Bangladesh’s fastest-growing digital marketing agencies. In a candid conversation, Tajul shared insights about his journey, the evolution of the local digital landscape, and what’s next for Ngital and the country’s marketing industry.

In this insightful interview, Tajul Islam, the founder of Ngital, shares his expertise and unique approach to digital marketing in Bangladesh. He discusses the importance of combining data-driven strategies with creative content and how Ngital stands out in a competitive market. Tajul also elaborates on the services Ngital offers, including Facebook advertising, local SEO, and performance marketing, and how his team’s expertise ensures success for clients across various industries.

Tajul bhai, thank you for joining us. Let’s start at the beginning — what inspired you to start Ngital Limited?

Tajul Islam: Thank you for having me. Honestly, it all began with a passion for connecting brands with people in meaningful, measurable ways. I was in the marketing industry for quite a while and noticed a gap in the market — many agencies were offering surface-level digital services without diving deep into data, performance, and storytelling. I believed brands in Bangladesh deserved better. That’s how Ngital was born — to bridge that gap and offer businesses smart, effective, and ROI-focused digital marketing solutions.

Interesting! And what does the name ‘Ngital’ signify?

Tajul Islam: (Laughs) Great question. ‘Ngital’ stands for Next Generation Digital. The idea was to build a company that’s ahead of its time — both in terms of strategy and technology. We didn’t want to be just another agency; we aimed to be a performance-driven, creative-led partner for brands.

You’ve worked with quite a few prominent local and international clients. Could you name a few and share some highlights?

Tajul Islam: Sure. We’ve been fortunate to work with brands like Fantasy Kingdom, Mana Bay Water Park, Concord Real Estate, Silverkey, Bio-Xin Cosmeceuticals, iPay Bangladesh, Priyo, Building Technology and Ideas, Marrie Stops Bangladesh, JCX Developments, Unimass Holdings, Credence Housing, Urban Design and Development and many others. One of our recent highlights is working with Prime Bank Investment Limited, where we built a comprehensive lead generation ecosystem combining Facebook, Google, TikTok, and WhatsApp. It’s exciting to see how data-driven storytelling can deliver real business impact.

What makes Ngital different from other digital marketing agencies in the market?

Tajul Islam: Three things: data obsession, integrated performance marketing, and personalized service. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all strategies. Every client gets a custom plan backed by audience research, analytics, and campaign testing. Besides that, our expertise covers PPC services, ads design, video production, website design, and app development — offering a full digital solution under one umbrella. And one of our core strengths is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), which helps brands get discovered not just on search engines, but also through voice search and AI-powered platforms. We have also known for the best alternative to httpool

How do you see Bangladesh’s digital marketing landscape evolving over the next 3–5 years?

Tajul Islam: It’s growing faster than ever. In the next few years, performance marketing will dominate, with brands focusing more on measurable ROI. AI-driven targeting, conversational marketing, and dynamic content personalization will become must-haves. Also, Answer Engine Optimization will be essential as more people use voice search and smart devices to find services. Platforms like TikTok and LinkedIn will become major lead generation channels alongside Google and Facebook.

What’s next for Ngital? Any exciting projects or ventures ahead?

Tajul Islam: Definitely. We’re scaling up our performance marketing services, investing in new AEO solutions, and expanding partnerships with local and international clients. Recently, we helped launch Zat.ink — a URL shortener and analytics platform for one of our clients — and we’re also working on a new digital brand called Essence Axis. Our goal is to position Ngital as a leading name for digital marketing services in Bangladesh and eventually the region.

How do you approach local SEO for businesses targeting a specific geographic area like Dhaka, Bangladesh?

Tajul Islam: Great question — local SEO is absolutely essential for businesses targeting a specific city or region like Dhaka. At Ngital, we follow a data-driven and location-first strategy to help brands get discovered by people in their immediate surroundings.

The first step is always to fully optimize the client’s Google Business Profile with accurate information, geo-tagged images, service areas, and ongoing updates. We make sure the business name, address, and phone number (NAP) is consistent across all online directories and platforms.

Next, we conduct localized keyword research to find what people in Dhaka are searching for — whether it’s “best e-bike showroom in Banani” or “IVF center near Dhanmondi.” Based on this, we create location-specific landing pages optimized with those keywords, embedded maps, customer reviews, and local FAQs.

Another important aspect is managing local citations by listing businesses on trusted Bangladeshi directories and industry-specific sites. We also run hyper-local content campaigns — like city guides, area-based blog posts, and seasonal tips tailored for Dhaka audiences.

Since most local searches now happen on mobile, we ensure the website is mobile-optimized, fast-loading, and has instant-action buttons like “Call Now” or “Get Directions.”

And of course, we integrate Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) techniques, optimizing content to appear in voice searches and featured snippets when someone in Dhaka asks a question through Google or smart devices.

Finally, everything is tracked through Google Analytics 4, Search Console, and GBP Insights so we can constantly measure performance and fine-tune the strategy. In short — it’s a mix of technical SEO, local relevance, and smart content marketing, all tailored for the Dhaka market.

How do you develop a holistic digital marketing strategy that integrates various channels effectively for a client in Bangladesh?

Tajul Islam: At Ngital, we believe that a successful digital marketing strategy isn’t about randomly running campaigns on different platforms — it’s about creating a well-connected, goal-oriented ecosystem where every channel complements the other. Especially in a market like Bangladesh, where consumer behavior is evolving rapidly, an integrated approach ensures we reach audiences at every touchpoint.

We start by sitting with the client to deeply understand their business objectives, target audience, product positioning, and competitors. From there, we create a strategy that connects Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, SEO, and Email Marketing — all driven by a unified message.

Our keyword here is Performance Marketing — every channel we use is performance-tracked and outcome-driven. For instance, while Facebook Ads and TikTok campaigns handle brand awareness and lead generation, Google Search Ads and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) secure high-intent, action-ready audiences.

We make sure to design custom creatives, video ads, and website landing pages aligned with each platform’s behavior. So, a TikTok lead-gen video won’t be the same as a Google Display banner or a Facebook Instant Form ad.

A crucial part of our strategy is audience segmentation and retargeting. A person who clicked on a Facebook ad but didn’t convert will see a retargeting ad on YouTube or Google Display later. We use platforms like Google Analytics 4, Meta Events Manager, and Conversion APIs to track these user journeys accurately.

Lastly, we sync everything with a real-time reporting dashboard for the client — so they’re always aware of how each channel is performing and how those platforms are working together to achieve business growth. In a nutshell — a holistic digital strategy in Bangladesh isn’t just about being everywhere. It’s about being in the right place, at the right time, with the right message, and making sure every channel contributes to a bigger, integrated conversion journey.

What role does mobile marketing play in your overall digital marketing approach for the Bangladeshi market?

Tajul Islam: In Bangladesh, mobile marketing is absolutely crucial. With the majority of internet users accessing the web via smartphones, it’s a core element of Ngital’s digital marketing strategy. We consider mobile marketing not just a channel, but the primary gateway to reach and engage the target audience.

We optimize every aspect of a campaign with mobile-first principles — from responsive websites and fast-loading mobile pages to mobile-friendly ad formats on platforms like Facebook, Google, and TikTok. It’s not just about making sure ads look good on mobile, but also about streamlining the user experience. For example, we ensure WhatsApp click-to-chat buttons, mobile call-to-action buttons, and interactive Instagram Stories are all optimized for seamless mobile interactions.

Mobile search behavior is another area we focus on. People in Bangladesh are increasingly using Google’s mobile search to find products and services on the go. We focus on local SEO (local search results, map listings, and nearby services) to make sure clients appear in those important, mobile-driven local searches.

Moreover, we use SMS marketing as a personalized touchpoint to reach customers with timely promotions or updates. Since mobile penetration is high and SMS has an impressive open rate, it’s a great way to build customer loyalty and engagement.

Finally, app-based marketing is becoming a growing focus. Whether it’s through push notifications, in-app ads, or app store optimization, we help clients tap into the massive potential of the mobile app ecosystem in Bangladesh.

In short, mobile marketing is central to everything we do, as it allows us to connect with audiences wherever they are, whenever they need us.

Times Tab: How do you develop effective Facebook advertising campaigns targeting specific demographics and interests in Bangladesh?

Tajul Islam: For effective Facebook advertising in Bangladesh, we start by understanding the demographics and psychographics of the target audience. We segment audiences based on factors like age, location, income, interests, and language preferences. This helps ensure we’re reaching the right people with the right message.

Next, we leverage Facebook’s interest and behavior-based targeting to focus on users engaged with specific industries or topics, like e-bikes, healthcare, or home decor. This targeting ensures we’re reaching individuals who are more likely to engage with the campaign.

We also create Custom Audiences from website visitors or email lists and use Lookalike Audiences to find users with similar characteristics to existing high-value customers. This helps us expand reach while maintaining relevancy.

The creative part is key — we design localized ads using Bangla language copy and visuals relevant to Bangladeshi culture. We experiment with various ad formats like carousel ads, video ads, and Stories to see what resonates best with the audience.

Finally, we continuously monitor campaign performance through Facebook Analytics and make data-driven adjustments. A/B testing is vital, and we analyze metrics like CTR, CPC, and ROAS to optimize results and ensure maximum efficiency.

What types of Facebook content tend to perform best with audiences in Bangladesh?

Tajul Islam: In Bangladesh, visual and engaging content tends to perform the best on Facebook. People here are highly responsive to videos, images, and interactive posts that feel personal and relatable. Video ads with a strong narrative, especially those with local references or storytelling, often capture attention. For instance, behind-the-scenes footage, product demos, or customer testimonials resonate well.

Localized content is also key. Ads featuring Bangla language copy and culturally relevant visuals, like local landmarks or festivals, engage audiences much more effectively than generic content. Polls, quizzes, and giveaways are popular formats as they encourage interaction and drive user participation.

User-generated content also works well in Bangladesh, as people trust real experiences from peers. So, showcasing real customer reviews, unboxing videos, or photos of customers using the product is very effective in building trust.

Lastly, limited-time offers, flash sales, and seasonal promotions attract a lot of engagement, especially around major holidays like Eid and Pohela Boishakh. These types of posts create urgency and excitement, which leads to high engagement and conversions.

What is your approach to transparency in reporting and communication with clients?

We provide regular, data-driven reports that give a clear view of campaign performance, including key metrics like click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, return on ad spend (ROAS), and more. Our clients can access these reports at any time through easy-to-read dashboards, which ensures they are fully informed about the progress of their campaigns.

Additionally, we hold regular meetings with clients to discuss campaign updates, insights, and strategic adjustments. Whether it’s a weekly call or a monthly review, we ensure that clients have a full understanding of what’s working, what’s not, and how we plan to optimize moving forward.

We also encourage two-way communication. Clients can reach out to us anytime with questions, feedback, or concerns. Our goal is to create a collaborative partnership where we’re always aligned on goals and expectations.

We prioritize continuous learning for our team. Our media buyers, SEO specialists, content creators, and designers undergo regular certifications from platforms like Google, Facebook, and TikTok. This ensures they stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in digital marketing. We also organize internal workshops to foster skill development in areas like data analysis, creative strategy, and customer engagement.

We use a combination of industry-leading tools to optimize our campaigns and streamline processes. From advanced analytics platforms like Google Analytics and Facebook Ads Manager, to SEO tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush, we ensure that we have the best resources to make data-driven decisions and maximize campaign performance. Additionally, our team has access to A/B testing tools and automated reporting software, which help us optimize campaigns in real time.

How do you utilize Facebook Pixel data to optimize ad performance and track conversions?

Tajul Islam: At Ngital, we use Facebook Pixel as a powerful tool to track user behavior and optimize ad performance. By placing the Pixel on our client’s website, we can monitor how users interact with the site — from page views to add-to-cart actions and form submissions.

Facebook Pixel allows us to track key actions taken by users, such as page visits, clicks, and conversions. This data enables us to better understand which ad creatives and targeting strategies resonate with our audience. We then use this information to optimize ad delivery and adjust our targeting to show ads to the most relevant users — those who are more likely to convert.

The Pixel is key for tracking conversion events like purchases, sign-ups, or lead form submissions. By setting up custom conversion events, we can monitor the specific actions that matter most to our clients’ goals. This ensures we are accurately measuring ROI and adjusting strategies based on real-time performance.

We also use the Pixel for retargeting. For example, if someone visits a product page but doesn’t make a purchase, we can show them targeted ads to bring them back to complete the conversion. Additionally, we create Lookalike Audiences based on Pixel data, allowing us to reach new users who share similar behaviors to high-value customers.

What are your strategies for optimizing YouTube videos for search and discoverability?

Tajul Islam: At Ngital, we focus on a combination of on-page SEO and engagement strategies to optimize YouTube videos for search and discoverability. Here’s how we approach it:

We start with thorough keyword research to identify terms that users are actively searching for on YouTube. This includes using YouTube’s search bar, Google Trends, and tools like TubeBuddy or VidIQ to find high-ranking keywords relevant to the video topic. These keywords are then strategically placed in the video title, description, and tags.

The video title should be clear, concise, and include the target keyword to improve visibility in search results. In the description, we provide a detailed overview of the video content, including relevant keywords and phrases without keyword stuffing. We also add timestamps if applicable, to enhance user experience and increase watch time.

We create eye-catching custom thumbnails that stand out in search results and recommended videos. A good thumbnail with a compelling image and text can significantly improve click-through rates (CTR), which is crucial for YouTube’s ranking algorithm.

Engagement is key for YouTube discoverability. We encourage viewers to like, comment, and subscribe by including strong calls to action in the video and description. Higher engagement signals to YouTube that the content is valuable, improving its chances of appearing in suggested videos and search results.

We ensure that closed captions are added to videos, as YouTube can crawl this text for additional relevance. Providing accurate transcripts and subtitles also increases accessibility and viewer retention, which indirectly benefits discoverability.

We strategically organize videos into playlists based on topics to increase session watch time. We also use YouTube cards and end screens to promote related videos, encouraging viewers to watch more content, which improves overall channel performance.

By combining these strategies, we ensure that each YouTube video is optimized not only for search visibility but also for audience engagement, increasing discoverability and long-term growth.

What is your unique methodology or approach to digital marketing that sets you apart?

Tajul Islam: At Ngital, our approach blends data-driven strategies with creative excellence. We focus on Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) to get brands featured in Google’s Featured Snippets and voice search, giving our clients a visibility edge.

Our performance-first mindset ensures that every campaign is optimized for measurable results, whether it’s sales, leads, or brand awareness. We also create high-quality, culturally relevant content that speaks directly to the Bangladeshi audience.

What sets us apart is our ability to offer end-to-end digital marketing solutions, handling everything from website design to ad creatives, ensuring consistency and seamless execution across all platforms.
